						it does not really matter 6 or 12 volt batteries. No matter what is chosen, you can still store equal amounts of power.  I currently use 5 strings of two 12 volt batteries to provide 24 volt feed to my inverter.  Higher voltage on the dc side means lower dc current to provide the same power, ergo less power loss﻿ and lighter wires, less heat on the dc side of the system.
